A step towards sustainability: the project of the cooperative Mancasale

The Cooperativa Case Popolari di Mancasale e Coviolo (CCPMC), a historic organization in Reggio Emilia with more than 60 spaces including housing units, shops, and offices, stands out for its commitment to promoting sustainable and participatory living.

Through the call for proposals launched by the SKI.F.T. project to support the green transition of micro and small enterprises in the social economy, the cooperative initiated a training pathway aimed at both the Board of Directors and resident members.

The program, focused on sustainability issues in line with ESG guidelines and the European 2030 Agenda, included several specific actions:

  • Training on the fundamentals of ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) policies.
  • A participatory assessment aimed at drafting a summary framework of the cooperative’s ESG status.
  • Participation in a workshop to share monitoring results, gather ideas, and encourage proposals for improvement initiatives.
  • A communication campaign, developed through various traditional and digital tools and channels, to present the activities carried out and raise members’ awareness on sustainability issues.

These initiatives laid the groundwork for drafting the Cooperative’s first Sustainability Report, scheduled for release in the coming months, as a natural evolution of the process undertaken.

The project consultants, listed in the SKI.F.T. Supplier Registry, who worked with the cooperative to implement the activities were: Ambiente Lavoro e Salute – a service cooperative, and AgM srl – a communication agency.

The project was funded by Legacoop Emilia-Romagna with a contribution of €6,700 and supported by Demetra Formazione.
