The Institute for Social Research (IRS) is a non-profit organization that, for over 50 years, has been promoting studies and initiatives aimed at improving social policies and personal services, with a particular focus on sustainability and social inclusion.
Thanks to the call launched by the European SKI.F.T. project, IRS took part in capacity-building activities designed to strengthen internal expertise on sustainability and fully integrate it into the organization’s strategies and practices, through the drafting of an internal Sustainability Plan.
Another key aspect of the program focused on training in environmental and participatory communication, aimed at improving the organization’s “green” positioning and fostering more effective engagement of citizens, stakeholders, and partners.
Today, the ecological transition requires a rethinking of territorial governance models: operators must be able to facilitate the active involvement of communities and guide decision-making toward sustainable and shared solutions. IRS’s participation in the training pathway contributed to the development of more conscious and skilled governance, capable of generating concrete, long-lasting, and measurable environmental impacts.
The project activities were carried out with the support of various service providers listed in the SKI.F.T. Registry of Providers, including professionals in agronomy and ecological transition as well as the consultancy company REFLECT.
The project was funded by Legacoop Emilia-Romagna with a contribution of €6,700 and supported by Demetra Formazione.
