Cooperativa Riabilitare: a concrete commitment to sustainability in the healthcare sector

Riabilitare Cooperative is a team of healthcare professionals, founded in 2014 with the goal of providing innovative and people-centered services, particularly for individuals who face difficulties leaving their homes.

As part of the SKI.F.T. project, Riabilitare collaborated with the accredited provider La Lumaca to carry out a capacity building program, structured around three key areas:

  • Sustainability Training
    Participation in a workshop focused on the main environmental challenges and opportunities, with particular attention to the growing importance of ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) criteria in managing and evaluating business performance.
  • Environmental Impact Consulting
    An in-depth analysis of the cooperative’s business model aimed at developing an initial action plan to integrate sustainable practices and improvements into internal processes.
  • Social Reporting and Sustainable Communication
    A redesign of the social report with a focus on environmental impact and ESG communication. Digital marketing tools were also introduced to strengthen the cooperative’s communication strategy through its website and social media channels.

Among the main improvement actions identified during the project were:

  • joint planning of home-based interventions to optimize travel by 2026;
  • a feasibility study for the adoption of electric bicycles;
  • the use of telerehabilitation, supported by the identification of relevant public funding opportunities;
  • the adoption of sustainable practices in the management of the administrative headquarters;
  • increased use of the social report as a communication tool to convey the environmental value generated by the cooperative.

Thanks to this initiative, Riabilitare has taken a significant step forward in its commitment to ecological transition, transforming it into a structured, measurable, and shared process involving all stakeholders.

The project was funded by Legacoop Emilia-Romagna with a contribution of €6,700 and supported by Demetra Formazione.
