On 14 and 15 May, partners of the European SKI.F.T. project meet in Strasbourg for the final transnational seminar, exploring the creation of local ecosystems to support the green transition of micro and small enterprises in the social economy.
The meeting took place in the premises of Kaleidoscoop, a symbol of Strasbourg’s ecological, social and economic transformation. Today, it represents a co-working space developed by a significant urban regeneration initiative.
Social economy enterprises from Denmark, Greece, Italy, Poland, the United Kingdom and Spain also attended the event. These enterprises are beneficiaries of the training and financial support provided by the SKI.F.T. project.
Legacoop Emilia-Romagna hosted regional cooperatives Eta Beta, Riabilitare and Tice, all of which are involved in training activities and have had their environmental transition projects funded by Legacoop Emilia-Romagna.
Moreover, during the session ‘Skills for Transition: Creating Territorial Ecosystems to Facilitate the Green Transition of Micro and Small Social Economy Enterprises’, the cooperative Tice presented its activities and experience within the project.
The seminar gave participants the chance to find out about exciting local social economy initiatives in areas such as the circular economy, culture, mobility and sustainable agricultural supply chains. It also gave them the opportunity to network with social economy organisations from across Europe.
Discussions between businesses, policy makers and project partners highlighted the central role played by small social economy enterprises, which, with the right support tools (training, consulting and financial incentives), can initiate ecological transition processes and create new circular economy models to become key players also in local sustainability initiatives.
